Lisa Murray | Board Member

Lisa Murray discovered her love for food early in life, inspired by the joyful moments spent cooking with her family. Some of her fondest memories are from the kitchen, where she learned to cook alongside her grandmothers and parents. As the child of an Air Force pilot, her experiences traveling and living overseas allowed her to try new flavors and cuisines. This exposure sparked her passion for combining ingredients and creating unique recipes, which became central to her life and career. After attending the University of New Mexico, Lisa chose to pursue a career in the hospitality industry.

With over twenty years of experience in the restaurant industry, Lisa began her career as an Executive Chef. She honed her skills at well-known companies such as Brinker International, P.F. Chang’s, and Taco Bell, where she led multi-unit teams across the country. Lisa excels in various cuisines, including Mediterranean, Asian, Italian, and Southern dishes. She loves to experiment in the kitchen and enjoys sharing her new recipes with friends and family. Through her work with Chefs For Seniors, she and her team provide personalized meal preparation for seniors, enriching their lives with the joy of food.

In 2008, Lisa returned to Colorado and, in 2024, made a strategic decision to pivot her career by opening Chefs For Seniors in Colorado Springs. In addition to her work, Lisa shares her love for cooking by teaching cooking classes at the YMCA Senior Center and supporting various local organizations and community activities. In her free time, she cherishes quality moments with family and friends. When she’s not in the kitchen, Lisa enjoys hiking, skiing in the winter, camping, board games with the family, and gardening.
