Join Senior Resource Council on November 18 for an informative and practical presentation designed to help professionals better understand and support individuals living with dementia and the families who care for them.
This educational session will begin with an overview of dementia, including what it is, common warning signs, and how cognitive changes may present in older adults. The second half of the presentation will focus on practical strategies for interacting with individuals living with dementia and navigating conversations and situations involving family members and caregivers.
Attendees will gain valuable insight into recognizing dementia-related challenges, communicating more effectively, and providing compassionate, person-centered support.

Cara Bussell, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist in Colorado, Oregon, and Alaska and is authorized to provide services in more than 40 states through PSYPACT. She specializes in psychotherapy for older adults and their caregivers, helping clients navigate the emotional, relational, and life transitions that often accompany aging.
Dr. Bussell also provides neuropsychological assessments for older adults, including capacity evaluations. In addition, she works with adults and military veterans of all ages who are experiencing challenges related to addiction, depression, or anxiety.
Her work is informed by experience serving individuals from diverse socioeconomic, religious, and ethnic backgrounds. She is committed to providing care that is thoughtful, respectful, collaborative, and tailored to each individual’s unique needs and circumstances.
RoseMary Jaramillo is the Director of Community Engagement for Southeast Colorado with the Alzheimer’s Association Colorado Chapter. She is passionate about educating and supporting individuals, families, caregivers, and professionals affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Through community outreach, educational programs, and advocacy, RoseMary helps connect people with resources that promote understanding, support, and quality of life throughout the dementia journey.
