Dine & Develop

Facing end-of-life conversations can feel overwhelming. Over lunch, Rev. Nita Mathew will share gentle, practical ways to start the dialogue, support loved ones, and make the arrangements that bring clarity and peace. Perfect for caregivers, professionals, and anyone wanting to plan ahead with care.

There will be limited networking before these meetings.  Please check in by 11:45.  Presentations will begin at 12:00.

Lunch is provided by our Dine & Develop Host, Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care.

Members are always welcome to bring a non-member and first time guest to SRC events. $25 fee applies  if your guest has attended SRC events in the past and is not yet a member. Donations are always appreciated.

Nita is an ordained Lutheran minister.  She has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Psychology from California Lutheran University, and her MDiv from Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary. After serving churches in the Phoenix area for several years, she found her true calling as a Hospice Chaplain. Nita has worked in Hospice now for over 20 years. Her roles have included chaplain, bereavement, admissions, marketing, alternate administrator and currently she is the Volunteer Coordinator for Advanced Home Health and Hospice in Colorado Springs.

Nita is married to Kent Mathews with whom she recently celebrated 37 years of marriage. They have lived in Colorado Springs for 22 years and call it their forever home. Together they have two daughters. Both are married with children, making Kent and Nita the proud grandparents of 2 grandsons and 1 granddaughter.

Nita’s passion for Hospice is evident in the way she shares with others. Her no nonsense approach to talking about death and dying is refreshing in a society that no longer understands death as being a natural part of life.
