Through education, collaboration, governance, and community engagement, these volunteer-led committees translate Senior Resource Council’s mission into action—strengthening senior-serving organizations and improving outcomes for the aging community.
Education & Impact Committee
The Education & Impact Committee serves as a core pillar of the Senior Resource Council’s mission to build the capacity of senior-serving organizations and professionals through education, resources, and collaboration.
This committee oversees SRC’s educational programming, professional engagement, and impact-focused initiatives—ensuring that offerings are relevant, high-quality, and aligned with the evolving needs of the aging community. Through this work, the committee helps translate SRC’s mission into meaningful learning, connection, and measurable community impact.
The Education & Impact Committee is supported by the following subcommittees, each focused on a key area of engagement outlined below.

The Education Subcommittee supports the Education & Impact Committee by helping develop and deliver educational programming that informs, equips, and elevates senior-serving professionals. This includes identifying timely topics, speakers, and learning opportunities that strengthen best practices and innovation in aging services.

The Membership Subcommittee supports the Education & Impact Committee by strengthening and sustaining a vibrant, engaged Senior Resource Council membership. This group focuses on understanding why individuals and organizations join and remain involved, while enhancing member engagement, partnerships, and overall value.

The SeniorTalk Subcommittee supports the Education & Impact Committee by expanding access to trusted information, education, and dialogue around issues impacting older adults and the professionals who serve them. Through Senior Resource Council’s radio and podcast programming, this subcommittee helps elevate relevant topics, amplify knowledgeable voices, and extend SRC’s reach within the community.
Subcommittee members help identify timely themes, potential guests, and content that reflects best practices, innovation, and meaningful impact in aging services—ensuring SeniorTalk remains informative, engaging, and aligned with Senior Resource Council’s values.

Governance Committee
The Governance Committee is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness, integrity, and sustainability of the organization’s board of directors. This committee oversees board recruitment, orientation, evaluation, and ongoing development. It also ensures compliance with bylaws, policies, and best governance practices.

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee supports the financial health and sustainability of the Senior Resource Council by providing oversight, guidance, and accountability. Working in alignment with the Board of Directors, the committee helps ensure resources are managed responsibly and in support of SRC’s mission and long-term impact.

Joe Henjum Senior Accolades Committee
The Joe Henjum Senior Accolades is a tribute to our founder, Joe Henjum. This event focuses on honoring those in our community who are doing exemplary work with seniors. We accept nominations and recognize businesses, volunteers, and business professionals that are making a difference in serving Seniors in our community. Holiday Dinner Dance Committee
The Holiday Dinner Dance Committee helps bring one of SRC’s most cherished annual events to life. This committee supports the planning and execution of an early evening celebration for local seniors, featuring dinner, live music, and dancing—creating meaningful connection and holiday cheer for our aging community.
This committee is a great fit for those who enjoy event planning, organization, attention to detail, and working together to create a memorable experience for seniors.

ENGAGE! Committee
This committee is currently closed to new members, but we welcome interest for 2026-2027 planning opportunities. As a member of the Senior Resource Council (SRC) ENGAGE Committee, you play a vital role in planning and executing one of SRC’s signature events. Your contributions ensure ENGAGE is a well-organized, impactful, and memorable gathering that strengthens connections within the senior-serving community.
